#CHILDHOOD
Rest-cent Germany is an initiative launched in the country in 2012 that allows UniCredit employees to donate cents from their net salary to non-profit organisations. Thanks to the extensive participation of German employees and the matching from the Foundation, which doubled the donations made, Kinderschutz München and Caritas München und Oberbayern received more than 23 thousand euros each. Both associations have been supporting children and families in difficulty during the pandemic.
#STUDY&RESEARCH
We have been collaborating for over ten years with the 5 top American universities (Chicago Booth, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford) to award one PhD Fellowship. The two-year scholarship amounts to 65 thousand euros and in 2021 was won by Laurenz De Rosa, a German student admitted to the PhD in Economics at Chicago Booth University.
#EMERGENCY
In July 2020, Germany was hit by an exceptional wave of bad weather, which caused more than 180 deaths and severe damages: two hundred thousand homes in North Rhine-Westphalia were left without electricity. UniCredit’s people responded immediately to the emergency, launching a fundraising campaign that involved about 700 donors and raised 90 thousand euros for the non-profit organisation "Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V.". The UniCredit Foundation doubled the amount raised.
