UniCredit Foundation's new Purpose: unlocking the potential of Europe's next generation

In line with the UniCredit Group's Purpose of empowering communities to progress, the UniCredit Foundation's new aim is to unlock the potential of Europe's next generation by providing our youth with enhanced and equal educational opportunities and the support they need to make their way in the academic and professional worlds.

The Foundation works towards combating school drop-out, encouraging university attainment, promoting study and research, and enhancing employability to fulfil its Purpose of unlocking the potential of Europe's next generation.

The renewed Foundation also presents a fresh look with a brand-new logo composed of a harmonious intersection of lines, shaping the 'U' and the 'F' with shades of warm colours representing growth, development, and progress. The new approach also impacts the visual identity: bright colours and energetic young people will characterise the Foundation's new distinctive communication, to engage and empower the talented leaders of tomorrow.

A strong commitment to counteract the effects of the pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic required the Foundation to reassess its intervention strategy and how it can best serve our communities in these dire times. While continuing on with its main objectives, the Foundation allocates significant amounts of resources to support various projects that help combat Covid-19 and its effects on our society.

Our recent impact across the UniCredit 4 regions: 2018 - 2021

From 2018 to 2021, we supported our communities by investing about 30 million euros in:
• social initiatives focusing on childhood (34%)
• study and research grants (24%)
• environmental, social and public health emergency (Covid 19) aid (27%) and other projects (14%).

In the next three years, we want to re-prioritise our resources and distribute them equally in all the communities in which the UniCredit Group operates and where all UniCredit's clients and employees live.
