UniCredit supports International Day of Persons with Disabilities

2:00 Min

Milan’s UniCredit Tower spire will light up in purple to support the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December. The aim of the event is to promote full and equal participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society. This year’s theme is “Building Back Better: towards a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

UniCredit will also colour its logo in purple across its website and social media from 3 to 6 December as an expression of strong commitment to disability inclusion, a key part of the company’s core values of Ethics and Respect and the guiding principle to always Do the right thing!

Our different markets are also supporting the event with dedicated initiatives. For example, colleagues in Germany have organised a dedicated panel discussion with both internal and external speakers;, while UniCredit Bank Austria has launched a new product, “inklusionkredit”, aimed at supporting the financial inclusion of disabled people in Austria.

UniCredit has been investing in disability management for more than ten years, including training for managers, internal engagement initiatives, partnerships with relevant external organisations and dedicated corporate policies. In 2020, the bank joined the Valuable 500, a global movement focused on putting disability management on the business leadership agenda. Our commitment was signed at a Group level by CEO Jean Pierre Mustier and the bank has further joined at a country level in Austria and Germany.

UniCredit is currently developing digital accessibility platforms for both colleagues and customers as part of our commitment to become increasingly inclusive and diverse. This includes a fully accessible intranet platform as well as ensuring that all banking services are available through remote channels.
