Longevity is a megatrend that affects all of society, from governments through to individuals and the companies that serve them. At UniCredit, we are committed to helping our clients and customers explore how these profound social and economic changes are unfolding, analysing how companies and investors can seize the opportunities they present.

Across the globe, nearly every nation is experiencing population ageing. This rise in human longevity is a success story.

'The key issue is how to promote a healthy ageing. This requires a mix of policies and long-term investment in human capital starting from the early childhood.'

(Prof. Tito Boeri, Head of the Economics Department, Bocconi University)

Businesses and financial institutions are devising new services and products to help their customers live longer, live better, and effectively manage their wealth as they do. It is a business opportunity for companies operating in nearly every sector. Indeed, according to the UK's National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA), there are already two billion people over 50 years old across the world, with a combined spending power of $30 trillion.

'Population ageing is often only seen as challenge. It is but longevity also offers great opportunities for growth and wealth of our economies. We must not waste these opportunities by short-sighted policies.'

(Prof. Dr. h.c. Axel Börsch-Supan, Ph.D.; Director emeritus, Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy)

To help our clients and customers understand and benefit from the impacts of increased longevity, UniCredit is organising its first Longevity Economic Forum 2025. We are also launching a dedicated Knowledge Hub as a repository for a curated selection of new reports, research materials, studies, and interviews. Together, the Forum and the Knowledge Hub are dedicated to discussing all aspects of living longer and living better from a public policy, business, economic, investment and financial perspective.
