Longevity is the new macrotrend caused by the fact that across the globe, nearly every nation is experiencing population aging.

"By 2050, the world's population of people aged 60 years and older will double and reach 2.1 billion. The number of persons aged 80 years or older is expected to triple to reach 426 million." (WHO 2024)

"Children born today are likely to live to be centenarians." (European Commission 2024)

The rise in human longevity is a success story. The share of older persons is gradually increasing while the share of children and young people is slowly decreasing. These trends bring new challenges to businesses and financial institutions, which can help individuals live longer, live better, and effectively manage their wealth.

"People don't just want to live longer, they want to feel better for longer." (Euromonitor 2024)

UniCredit is organising its first Longevity Conference 2025, dedicated to aspects of longevity, discussing all aspects of living longer and living better, the related business implications and how banks and businesses can support this.
