Two Filarmonica della Scala Musical Events: Saturday, April 21

UniCredit and Filarmonica della Scala will together present two different musical events on Saturday, April 21.

 

The fourth performance of the season's open rehearsal series will be held at 10:30 am at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in partnership with the UniCredit Foundation. Proceeds from the rehearsal will be donated to Bambinisenzasbarre, a local non-profit organization that provides family counseling to children and their parents, with a focus on children of incarcerated parents.

 

Conductor Riccardo Chailly, who will be directing the Filarmonica orchestra, will introduce the musical repertoire to be performed before solo pianist Stefano Bollani joins the orchestra on stage.

 

The second performance of the new Filarmonica della Scala al cinema (The Filarmonica della Scala in Movie Theaters) series will be held at 7:45 pm later that evening. The five-concert series is presented by the Filarmonica della Scala and UniCredit, its main partner, together with Musicom.it and Nexo Digital. The concert will be filmed in high-definition by director Pietro Tagliaferri and will be broadcast live via satellite to movie theaters around the world.

 

Moviegoers will be greeted by director Francesco Micheli live from the entrance of Teatro alla Scala before being taken backstage to the conductor's dressing room and then on to the performance hall where the concert is set to begin. Audiences will have a behind-the-scenes look of the legendary theater, where they will watch never before seen interviews with the performing musicians and conductors.
