From June 26 to October 5, 2014, the MAXXI of Rome will stage a comprehensive retrospective of the work of Gaetano Pesce, the avant-garde Italian architect, designer and world-renowned artist. The exhibition, curated by Gianni Mercurio and Domitilla Dardi, will encompass the full scope of Pesce's creative development, from his early works to his final pieces.

The retrospective will present his drawings, sketches, models and objects in such a way as to transform museumgoers into protagonists by requiring them to choose from among seven different thematic paths through the exhibit: No standard, Person, Place, Fault, Landscape, Body and Politics.

To augment the exhibition, a giant-sized rendition of Pesce's famous UP 5&6 La Mamma/Donna chair and ottoman will be installed in the plaza. Designed in 1969, the piece represents a female figure tied to a ball-shaped ottoman, symbolizing "the shackles that keep women subjugated."

At UniCredit, we are proud to sponsor this important show because we deeply believe that culture and art are fundamental to the sustainable social growth and development of the communities in which we live and work.

All UniCredit customers can buy one discounted ticket, from Tuesday to Friday, by presenting a UniCredit bank or credit card at the box office.
