This school year will be the first for a new contest Economia... Ti diamo noi una lezione! ("Economics... Let's Have a Lesson!"), organized by the Osservatorio Permanente Giovani Editori in collaboration with UniCredit. The contest will involve students in 2,768 classrooms.
The contest will be open to classes that are already participating in a program called Il Quotidiano in classe ("The Newspaper in the Classroom"). The aim of the contest is to inform younger students about how the real economy works and to teach them greater financial awareness as they learn to meet the challenges that await them.
UniCredit partners with this project because we aim to be close to our territories and because we believe in the young generations, and their education: a way to be part of an economic and social sustainable growth of the communities in which we live and work.
Under the guidance of their teachers, contest participants will analyze relevant newspaper articles and select economic topics, for which they will then prepare instructional materials of their own choosing. For the participating elementary school students, it should prove to be both fun and informative.
We wish all the contestants luck!
