As of October 1st, Carmine Lamanda, currently General Manager of Capitalia, will become Senior Executive Vice President of UniCredit.
Mr Lamanda, will be in charge of the Institutional Relations & Strategic Advisory Area, reporting directly to the CEO, and will be a member of the Group Management Committee.

The development functions of the International and Institutional Relations will continue to be led by Giuseppe Scognamiglio and will be included in the new structure.
Carmine Lamanda was born in Salerno on June the 2nd, 1941. He graduated magna cum laude at the University of Perugia.
He joined Banca d'Italia in 1961 and from 1970, within the Authority's central administration, he became a close collaborator of Guido Carli for the regulations aspects.
After a consolidated experience in banking, he was charged by Governor Paolo Baffi and, after that, by Governor Carlo Azeglio Ciampi to reshape the regulation of the credit sector. In his role, Lamanda worked closely to the Ministry of Treasury Giuliano Amato collaborating at the reform of the state-owned banks; in 1993 he contributed to the definition of the TUF (Testo Unico Bancario) approved by the Ciampi Government.
In 1994, Lamanda was assigned to the Ministry of Treasury where he was appointed Head of Cabinet by Lamberto Dini.
In 1997, he joined Capitalia where the Chairman Cesare Geronzi gave him the responsibility of the Group strategies and the cost restructuring together with the CEO, Giorgio Brambilla. He was appointed Co-General Manager in 2002 with the responsibility for the Distribution and Channels competence line including, Organization, Distribution, Industrial Relations and Systems Guidelines. Lamanda is member of the Boards of the most relevant subsidiaries of the Capitalia Group.
