Helmut Bernkopf, 41, has been appointed as a new member of the Executive Management Committee of the UniCredit Group's Corporate Division and will be Bank Austria's Manage-ment Board Member responsible for corporate banking.
"In the course of his international career, Helmut Bernkopf has acquired comprehensive know-how in corporate banking. I look forward to working with him," says Vittorio Ogliengo, Head of the Corporate Banking Division of the UniCredit Group. "I am particularly pleased because in appointing Helmut Bernkopf we have found an internationally experienced man-ager within our own group," underlines Erich Hampel, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Austria.
Helmut Bernkopf has been employed with Bank Austria since 1994. The experienced bank manager from Vienna began his international career in the Corporates Division of Bank Aus-tria. Further steps up the professional ladder were his position as the head of corporate bank-ing in Bank Austria Romania and his appointment to the Management Board of HVB Tiriac Bank. At the end of 2004 he returned to Vienna to head the Central and Eastern European region as General Manager of Bank Austria. Since 2007, Bernkopf has been Deputy Presi-dent of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Russia.
