Update COVID-19

Today UniCredit was advised that an employee based in the branch of Dossobuono (VR), has tested positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus. UniCredit is in ongoing contact with the affected employee to ensure he/she gets all the support possible and wishes him/her a speedy recovery.

In line with the instructions of the health authorities, UniCredit already deep-cleaned and disinfected the branch last Wednesday and the branch has already reopened with new personel. Moreover, UniCredit has contacted all employees who may have been in close and recent contact with the individual, advising them to self-quarantine for 14 days and to follow the instructions of the health authorities.

Clients who have recently visited the branch will be contacted individually.

UniCredit has already implemented the following precautionary measures in the last weeks:

  •  UniCredit has activated health and safety protocols and will continue to carefully monitor the situation in the affected regions
  • UniCredit encourages all employees to rely on agreed alternative work solutions, such as remote working from home
  •  Employees who were in / visited the affected areas in the last two weeks will need  to work remotely if at all possible; if not possible, they will be put on paid leave and will not be allowed to access their habitual place of work
  • On 22 February 2020 UniCredit put in place a Group-wide non-essential domestic and international travel  ban. This was in addition to the previously implemented business travel ban to, from and within Asia and to from and within the affected areas in Northern Italy.

The health and well-being of people and customers is a top priority for UniCredit. The Group will continue to actively monitor the situation, always act in everyone's best interests and do the right thing!
