UniCredit supporting the Italian Treasury as a key partner in distributing the new BTP ITALIA

UniCredit, through its role as a bookrunner, has successfully contributed to the placement of the new 5-yr BTP ITALIA.

The placement demonstrates the Group's role as a key financing partner to the Italian economy. UniCredit managed to secure a high-quality order book across all tranches thanks to its unique client network and first-class distribution capabilities.

In particular, UniCredit distributed 43 per cent of the retail tranche through its digital channels, almost doubling the latest BTP ITALIA issuance in 2019, proving that the acceleration of the banks' digitalisation is driving efficiency for both the Bank and its clients.

Commenting on the transaction,  Olivier Khayat, Co-CEO Western Europe, UniCredit said: "We are proud of our strong contribution to the successful placement of the BTP ITALIA. This has been a  significant issuance in a challenging environment. We are firmly committed to supporting our clients and communities, deploying our great network, the quality and commitment of our people and our ability to cooperate and generate synergies across all business lines - CIB, retail network, private banking and wealth management - always acting as One Bank, One UniCredit"

UniCredit continues to be recognised as a leading EMEA European debt finance house, consistently ranking as a top three bookrunner in loans and bonds in its core markets. According to recent figures, the bank was ranked #3 Bookrunner Combined EMEA Bonds and Loans in EUR League Table (1 Jan - 31 Mar 2020) in Europe.
