UniCredit expands its commitment for the support of the Department of Civil Protection (DPC) in its handling of the emergency linked to the epidemiological spread of the COVID - 19 virus in Italy.
UniCredit and UniCredit Foundation will provide the DPC with an additional contribution of € 1.5 million aimed at purchasing masks, sanitary materials and other medical equipment needed in fighting the virus, after the first donation of € 500 thousand last week.
In addition the Group will make available to DPC, all the banking services needed in support of all the activities put in place during this crisis free of charge.
Jean Pierre Mustier said: "As a Group we feel the responsibility and the urgency to do our part in every possible way for the well-being of the communities in which we are present. To be by the side of DPC in supporting their work that stands out for excellence in quality and commitment is certainly a source of pride for all UniCredit employees".
The contribution comes in addition to the UniCredit "Emergency Package" in support of the Country announced on February 24th and extended today.
