Our renewed commitment to the audio-visual sector

UniCredit is the Official Sponsor of MIA - Mercato Internazionale del Cinema, a tangible commitment by the bank to support the Italian audio-visual sector and promote a positive return to the big screen.
From 13 to 17 October 2021 the MIA|MERCATO INTERNAZIONALE AUDIOVISIVO returns to Italy to reaffirm its status of being a key event for the entire Italian cinema-audiovisual sector. MIA is the first Italian market that brings together all segments of the audio-visual industry (Film | Drama | Doc). The 7th edition will as usual take placein Rome, at Palazzo Barberini, Cinema Moderno and Cinema Quattro Fontane, fully compliant to the Covid-19 safety measures.
With over 1,500 professionals from 58 countries, each edition of MIA represents a prestigious event for experts in the national and international audio-visual sector, aimed at producers and distributors of high-end content: an excellent occasion to sign agreements for transnational film and television series, and the place where business relationships between global market leaders are established and strengthened.
UniCredit confirms its role as Official Sponsor for this year's edition and will be present both with its own stand at Palazzo Barberini and on MIA’s online platform, which will allow operators from various countries to participate and access all networking activities, pitching forums, talks and screenings in an integrated and global scenario.
The Italian cinema business is recovering strongly
The Bank wants to play an active role in finding solutions with a concrete committed to support professionals and the wider public by pursuing two important objectives:
- guiding the educational process for audio-visual companies
- promoting business opportunities generated by new technologies, leveraging on the audio-visual world.
Roberto Fiorini. The new head of the “Central Italy” region at UniCredit Italia says: "There are several industrial sectors in which we play an important role. We are currently a centre of excellence in film entertainment and audio-visual production. We have been covering this sector for a few years now and have grown considerably over time. There are several interesting initiatives, just think of Cinecittà, which will have its own equipment also thanks to Pnrr funds. Our presence in this sector is becoming very strong and we are growing by more than 10% compared to the rest of the market".
