Contributing to the Covid-19 emergency recovery also means upgrading and creating excellent healthcare facilities to raise the standards of medical support for the communities in which we operate.

Last week UniCredit made an important contribution by arranging the financing for a hospital at frontline against the pandemic in Lombardy, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to being “part of the solution” during the emergency.

Thanks to a co-financing signed by UniCredit and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti for the San Gerardo hospital in Monza, 48.6 million euros will be made available for the expansion and upgrading of the structure which enable the hospital to accommodate up to 775 beds.

Andrea Casini, co-CEO Commercial Banking Italy of UniCredit commented; “The crucial importance of investments in the healthcare system has become dramatically evident by the recent pandemic. We are therefore happy that we have been able to help structure this important financing, which adds to the strengthening of the healthcare facilities and raise the standards of health services at San Gerardo, a leading hospital in the Lombardy area also in the Covid 19 emergency.”
