The construction of a new outpatient care and sheltered accommodation will create a residential community in Coburg for young people with disabilities
HypoVereinsbank is providing financing for the construction of “Neues Wohnen Coburg”, a new outpatient care and sheltered accommodation at Bertelsdorfer Höhe in Coburg. It will create a residential community that provides educational support for young people with mental or physical disabilities.
The impact-oriented loan is part of UniCredit’s commitment to Social Impact Banking, which provides financing and support for companies and organisations for social projects that have a measurable positive impact on society.
“Impact financing allows us to support projects in areas such as education, health and inclusion, and adds important value for society,” says Dr. Michael Diederich, Spokesman of the Management Board of HypoVereinsbank. “The new housing project in Coburg offers young adults with disabilities an opportunity to lead a self-determined life. We are happy to support them in this respect.”
The two-storey building will consist of 24 single apartments with a private bathroom and kitchenette, each with access to a common room with full kitchen. In the basement there will be spacious rooms for leisure and celebrations. The second floor will host practices for speech therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as four apartments that can be rented out. Permanent staff will ensure nursing and care of the residents according to their individual needs.
The housing project is realised by the family-owned company RAAB Vision GmbH & Co KG, in cooperation with the parents’ association “Neues Wohnen Coburg e.V.” The aim of the parents’ association is to create a suitable living environment in which their children with disabilities can live by themselves in a family-like community when they finish school.
