"Italy’s artistic and culinary expressions are recognised all over the world, and tourists spend time in Italy to savour this culture". Giorgio Palmucci, Chairman of Enit (the Italian National Tourist Board)

These words illustrate the profound reason for a new partnership with UniCredit: the desire to strengthen tourism and quality agri-food industries. These are leading sectors for Italian products, and through collaboration the partnership will identify and enhance initiatives and projects that offer growth opportunities for businesses operating in these fields.

UniCredit is committed to supporting the agrifood and tourism companies through specific financial support tools.

The agreement is part of "Made4Italy", a UniCredit initiative launched in October 2019 to promote an integrated tourism-agriculture system. It has allocated up to €5 billion for Italian SMEs over the three-year period 2019-2021 coupled with advice calibrated to the needs of the selected projects.

Andrea Casini and Remo Taricani, Co-CEOs Commercial Banking Italy of UniCredit

"UniCredit has been working in this direction for years and, thanks to 'Made4Italy', the programme has, to date, supported agri-food/tourism companies with over 3.5 billion euros. The agreement with Enit gives a further boost to identifiying projects that enhance the synergy between the two sectors and contributes to the relaunch of a sector heavily affected by travel restrictions".

The merging of tourism and agri-food is a trend that was highlighted in the recent Nomisma-UniCredit Tourism Observatory, which shows travel choices are increasingly linked to the local area, culture and traditions.
