Social distancing makes staying in touch with colleagues more important than ever - especially those on our branch 'front line'. Across the bank, we are finding new ways to share experiences and stay connected as One Team, One UniCredit

Social distancing has not stopped our CEO, Jean Pierre Mustier, and the rest of UniCredit’s top management team from staying close to UniCredit people, especially to our branch heroes who stood by our clients throughout the Covid-19 emergency. Since March, Jean Pierre and other managers have made more than 440 video calls to branch colleagues in Italy, Germany, Austria and the CEE.

The calls are an opportunity to discuss the challenges of lockdown working, better understand the needs of colleagues and customers across our network and thank everyone in the branch for their commitment over the past few months. Importantly, these calls allow our managers to cut through all distances and levels within UniCredit, proving that if we stand together, physical distance can be overcome.

As lockdowns eased in early June, Jean Pierre and other managers could resume branch visits, starting with branches in Rome and Milan. Meanwhile, a branch in Rapallo received a very special visit from Elkette!

Throughout the Covid-19 lockdown we’ve shared stories from the ‚front line‘ with over 30 Branch Hero videos in ‚People‘ section of One UniCredit.

Flavio explains how UniCredit has supported the development of an innovative start-up from Brescia that successfully created a product being used by hospitals in the fight against Covid-19. Anna tells us about how the additional flexibility of the bank also helped customers with school age children at home. Dragan explains how his team has been helping clients in Serbia without them needing to visit a branch — especially elderly clients.
