Arte Lombarda - dai Visconti agli Sforza
One of the first and most important exhibitions of EXPO 2015, Arte lombarda dai Visconti agli Sforza - Milano al centro dell'Europa (Lombard Art from the Visconti to the Sforza - Milan at the Center of Europe), opened to the public on Thursday, March 12 in Milan's Palazzo Reale.
UniCredit is main partner for the show, mounted for the second time - it was first held in 1958 in Palazzo Reale after the building's rehabilitation from a 1943 bombing.
The show underscores the centrality of both Milan and Lombardy during the Signoria historical period (from 300 to 500 A.D.), while showcasing the main artistic achievements that characterized this time and also inspired important modern art.
The exhibition, which includes some 250 works, captures the spirit of EXPO 2015, highlighting the importance of the Lombardy region's art to Europe.
A special selection of paintings, documents from state archives, manuscripts, plants and ancient coins create a sense of Milan as a European city at that time.
UniCredit clients can access discounted tickets (€10 instead of €12) to the exhibition by showing their credit or ATM card along with a valid ID.
