UniCredit will be the main partner of the International Journalism Festival for the sixth consecutive year, a prestigious event that attracted more than 50,000 visitors in 2012. This seventh annual festival will be held from April 24 to 28 in Perugia, Italy.
The program for this year's festival was presented yesterday morning at a press conference held in the European Commission representation offices in Rome.
UniCredit is proud to support this important event, given our deep belief that mainstream and digital media play an important role in our society. Digital media will be prominently featured at this year's festival, a decision UniCredit strongly supports. With its own YouTube channel and a dedicated Facebook page for Italy, UniCredit fully embraces the digital media revolution. Through our @UniCredit_PR Twitter account, we will report live from our two panels at the festival, Social [In]Ability? and Internationalization, New Languages and the Economy: The Role of Banks. Moreover, we held our first Twitter press conference in early March.
Every year, the festival attracts some of the biggest names in international journalism, in addition to influential players in the economic and financial sectors. The festival's motto - "No paywall here" - refers to the fact that admission to all festival events is free of charge. This aligns with UniCredit's commitment to making culture accessible to the public.
Although news reporting is the primary focus of the event, there will be ample opportunities to discuss innovations in the communications field and to share insights on new forms of expression that are influencing how we communicate with one another.
