UniCredit's institutional website was recognized for the sixth consecutive year as the best corporate website among banks in Italy at the annual KWD Italy Webranking 2013 Awards, gaining two positions compared to 2012. In the European ranking, which considered the FT Europe 500 companies and included 26 Italian companies, the site ranked second banking site and 13th overall.
KWD Webranking is the main European research that evaluates the quality of online corporate communications: in the 2013 edition, more than 950 companies, including those in the FT Europe 500 and FT Global 100, and their web corporate communications were assessed.
The evaluation assessed functional and interactive applications, availability and quality of financial information, corporate governance, social responsibility, employer branding and the website's positioning in major search engines. This year's research focused particularly on the integration of web corporate communications with social networking.
