UniCredit Bank Ireland organised a charity event on 24 September to support the Capuchin Day Centre founded in 1974 by Br. Kevin Crowley. At present, the Centre delivers 1,200 food parcels every week and provides nearly 600 meals, six days a week to their clients in Dublin.
The Centre also provides a chiropodist, advocacy, training skills, a nurse, family facilities and clean clothing to the homeless of the city.
For the Capuchins the welfare of families is a priority and for this purpose they established a designated "Family Area" section in the Dining Hall where children and their parents can enjoy a nutritious meal in safety.
As well as providing financial support to the Capuchin Day Centre, UniCredit Bank Ireland have organised a Gala Dinner at the Capuchin Day Centre on the 24th September 2018.
Nearly all colleagues of the Irish office participated with great effort and enthusiasm serving food, cleaning up and welcoming all the Charity's disadvantaged clients.
Approximately 370 Capuchin's customers were served a proper hot three course meal on the day.
All children were offered a dedicated kids menu and received some sweets and treats to bring home. Entertainment in the form of lovely Irish music was played by a local band creating a great atmosphere with the clients singing and dancing alongside the volunteers.
A special thanks goes to the UCI Manager Alex Kealy who proposed and organised the event, and of course the local employees who were received a special thanks from Br. Kevin in his closing speech for their commitment in serving the meals.
