Starting in July 2006, Marc Beckers is appointed Head of Corporate Identity at UniCredit Group, based in Milan, Italy. In this position, Beckers will be responsible for the corporate brand communications and strategy of the group.
Marc Beckers has more than 25 years of senior management experience in the communications and brand management arena. Most recently he was Executive Director, Global Product and Brand Communications at General Motors Corporation in Detroit, U.S.A. (2003-2006) and Vice President, Communications at GM Europe in Zurich, Switzerland (1996-2003).
Born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1956, Beckers received a degree of Communications Sciences from Hibo Business School in Ghent, Belgium, in 1978. He also completed GM University's Senior Executive Program in the U.S., Japan and China in 2002/2003.
Marc Beckers started his communications career at GM Belgium in 1979. From 1987 through 1989, he worked at Renault Belgium/Luxembourg as Director, External Relations. In 1989, Beckers rejoined GM and since spent most of his time in senior European and global assignments in Germany, Switzerland and the U.S.
Beckers is married and has three children, and is fluent in 4 languages.
Edoardo Massaglia, currently Head of Corporate Identity, will continue to cooperate with UniCredit for the development of the activities of the Local Committees both at national and international level.
