With reference to the agreement signed on 16th May 2008 and to the press release issued on the same date relating to the disposal to Banca Popolare di Vicenza S.c.p.a. of the 76.26% stake in IRFIS - Mediocredito della Sicilia, held by Banco di Sicilia S.p.A. (UniCredit Group), we announce that, at the expiry date of the agreement, certain conditions precedent have not been met, including the completion of the authorisation process for the release of the required authorisation by the supervisory authority.
In light of the above, also in the interest of IRFIS' ongoing business, the parties have agreed not to further extend the duration of the agreement, expired on 11 April, 2009.
