UniCredit Group received seven awards by The Banker

UniCredit Group has won seven prestigious awards attributed by "The Banker", the reference magazine part of the FT Group. The awards, announced last night during an official ceremony in London, are the following:

Best bank in Italy
Best bank in Central & Eastern Europe
Best bank in Bulgaria
Best bank in Croatia
Best bank in Poland

Best bank in Turkey
Best bank in Ukraine

Those recognitions come on top of the award for the "Best investment bank in CEE" received in October, bringing the total number of awards attributed this year by The Banker to UniCredit Group to a record eight.

Alessandro Profumo, CEO of UniCredit Group, said: "I am delighted that UniCredit Group has been awarded not only Best bank in Italy but also Best bank in CEE and in five countries of the region, as well as Best Investment bank in CEE. This is testimony of the good performance and high quality of UniCredit as a European banking group in a tough environment. Those awards demonstrate UniCredit's strong franchise and the solidity of its diversified business model, and reinforce our determination to be an ever more customer-centric organization with close ties to local communities."

Mr. Profumo added: "I would like to extend this appreciation to all the 168.000 employees of the Group for their outstanding work. Thanks to their commitment, they have ensured that a difficult year has become one of success as well".
