Over the next 4 weeks, the UEFA Champions League trophy will visit 8 Italian cities
From September 23 to October 22, the so-called "big ears" cup will visit 8 cities in as many regions. Thanks to UniCredit, the UEFA Champions League trophy will return to Italy following the Madrid derby final, which was held at the Meazza Stadium in San Siro on 28 May 2016.
The Trophy Tour, which sees the cup travelling in style aboard the iconic red truck, is set to return to Italy's town squares, after delighting more than 650,000 visitors on its visit to 16 of the Central and Eastern European countries in which UniCredit is present.
The first leg of the ninth UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour will take place in Milan on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. Subsequently, the trophy will visit a further 7 cities: Turin, Verona, Bologna, Bari, Palermo, Naples and Rome. During the tour, football fans will be given the opportunity to have a photo taken with the trophy, and to personally meet some of the famous footballers who have played in the UEFA Champions League in recent years.
At each of the 8 stops, the cup will be on display aboard the original "Red Truck": built specifically for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, this exceptional means of transport can accommodate an exhibition space of around 200 square meters.
The trophy will be on show on the balcony of the upper floor, providing passers-by with a great view, and a fantastic opportunity to take exclusive photos and selfies. In addition, fans will also be invited to participate in fun interactive activities, and to visit an impressive exhibition of football memorabilia signed by some of the champions who have made UEFA Champions League history.
This edition of the Trophy Tour will also feature an exciting new element: the Cup will be exhibited not only at the most iconic points of interest in each of the host cities, but also at a number of commercial establishments, providing further opportunities for visitors to access the initiatives planned for the tour, with an enhanced presence across Italy.
Fans can follow each stage of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour on goo.gl/s3PpYY and UniCredit's social media channels, or by using the #UCLTrophyTour hashtag.
