Bank ranks first in Italian syndicated loans, second in the EMEA region YTD
UniCredit is the most active bank in the Italian syndicated loan market, according to Dealogic.
With more than 6.5 billion in loans and 31 operations syndicated year to date, UniCredit affirms its lasting commitment to Italian corporates and financial institutions and leadership position in debt capital markets.
Commenting on the data, UniCredit's General Manager, Gianni Franco Papa, said: "We believe in the underlying fundamentals of the Italian economy and remain committed to financing our Italian clients in all market conditions. Thanks to our pan-European platform and strong capital position, our market share in Italy has been on an upward trajectory in recent years. This, in turn, highlights our sizeable contribution to the real economy as a trusted partner in all phases of growth".
Dealogic's latest figures also confirmed UniCredit as the second biggest lender in syndicated loans across Europe this year, with more than 22 billion euros financed through 127 transactions.
