UniCredit, trade union agreement signed on generational turnover with 850 new hirings and economic bonuses for 2,400 euro

  • Another important step in the process of generational turnover already started with the UniCredit Unlocked business plan - reinforced through additional new hires of 850 young individuals against 850 voluntary exits by 2024
  • Ecomomic recognition a total of 2400 euro to employees in Italy due to anticipated definition of the collective productivity bonus in addition to an extraordinary one-off contribution to combat the high cost of energy by benefiting from the legislative innovations introduced by the Government with the Aiuti quater Decree.
  • Reaffirmed willingness to create an even more positive and inclusive workplace in order to fully unleash UniCredit's business potential

Today UniCredit announces that it has signed a trade union agreement with the Trade Union Delegations of FABI, FIRST/CISL, FISAC/CGIL, UILCA and UNISIN in Italy aimed at fully unleashing the Bank's commercial potential in Italy by leveraging the cornerstones introduced by the Unlocked Plan.

The actions envisaged are aimed at fostering an important generational change process through a plan of voluntary exits and external hirings, thus reaffirming UniCredit's investment in employing young people within the country.

At the same time, in order to meet the needs of employees to cope with the increase in energy prices, today's agreements provide for both the early definition of the 2022 collective productivity bonus and a one-off extraordinary contribution for a total of 2,400 euro, so current employees can rely on additional funds through this challenging time.

In detail, the agreement includes the following points:

  • in order to encourage the generational change process already in progress and guarantee positive turnover, it is established that 850 people, allocated to the business network, will be hired against a total of 850 new voluntary exits by 2024, with socially responsible instruments such as the sector Solidarity Fund.
  • In order to demonstrate continued attention to its employees on the issue of high energy costs, and in order to allow for optimal planning of financial resources, UniCredit Group agreed in advance of the usual timeframe on the value of the collective productivity bonus for 2022 for an amount of 1,600 euro. This agreement is the result of the positive contribution of Italy to the achievement of the Group's increased performance. In addition, the bonus represents an element of social cohesion and a tangible sign of appreciation for the efforts made by colleagues to relaunch and consolidate profitability.
  • In addition, UniCredit Group, fully aware of the current macroeconomic context, adopted an extraordinary measure to support its people. With this view, it has been decided to make an extraordinary one-off contribution to the welfare account of 800 euros, thus enabling colleagues to maximise the benefit of the legislative innovations introduced by the Government with the Aiuti quater decree.
  • Finally, the Company is committed to reaffirming the importance of positive relations and correct business conduct in full respect of its people, aimed at developing good customer relations to create an even more positive and inclusive workplace and fully unlock UniCredit's business potential.
  • The agreement also provides for the use of financed training funds to support the UniCredit University and the ongoing professional development of our people.
