UniCredit University awarded in first position with prestigious ABI Prize for Innovation in Banking in the category of " innovation for the dissemination of corporate culture and skills development".
UniCredit is proud to announce that its innovative project, UniCredit University, has been awarded the prestigious ABI Prize for Innovation in Banking Services - 2024 Edition. This recognition underscores UniCredit's ongoing commitment to raising the standards of the banking industry through innovation and skills development.
UniCredit University represents a pioneering initiative in the banking industry aims to provide the best professional training for all Group employees. This innovative program supports employees through a common and transparent approach in their training and professional development through customised offerings to build a cutting-edge team ready to face the challenges of the future.
The UniCredit University project, part of a Global Learning & Development framework, started with a pilot project launched in 2022 in Italy, building a training model that aims to train all people's talents through a return to in-presence training and the relaunch of UniCredit's seven territorial training centers in Italy. In the two-year period 2022-2023, UniCredit University delivered more than 2 million hours of training and provided access to in-presence training to more than 10,000 colleagues.
The initiative has been extended and developed in parallel to benefit all UniCredit colleagues through the establishment of several Universities in the Group's 13 countries, enabling a tailored approach to learning and the development of professional skills for each business area and corporate function.
The project to date ensures the tools employees need to succeed, in virtual and physical classrooms, through an evolved and innovative digital learning system with access to more than 70,000 pieces of training content, peer-to-peer learning initiatives focusing on upskilling and reskilling the skills required for the future.
The objective of UniCredit University is to be a tangible sign of the Bank's commitment to unlock the potential of its people by supporting them in the daily realisation of its Purpose of providing communities with the levers for progress.
It is also UniCredit Group's commitment to its people to provide opportunities of development, training and growth, spreading a culture of continuous learning with the goal of "Unlock a better tomorrow".
The ABI Award for Innovation in Banking Services aims to include the banking world in the path for promoting innovation in services and contribute to improving the image of the sector by representing innovative projects and services.
The evaluations of the applications were carried out by a scientific committee composed of authoritative representatives from the business, institutional and academic worlds, which carried out the pre-assessment of the selected projects and followed up with the formation of the rankings on merit criteria such as: quality of the innovation; concreteness and usefulness of the initiative from the point of view of the users involved; results achieved/expected objectives; innovativeness of the design methodologies employed; and positive effects on the banking industry and the social/environmental context.
The rankings thus formed were submitted to the Jury for awards under the Prize. The Jury determined the final rankings completely independently.
