The Gift Matching Program is the longest-running solidarity initiative within UniCredit Group – one that has grown immensely over the past several years and remains guided by the Foundation’s Purpose of empowering Europe’s next generation.

Last December, its 20th edition was launched in support of non-profit running projects in favour of children and young people (0-24 years old), active inside and outside the many countries where UniCredit operates. Through the Gift Matching Program, the Foundation continues to match all contributions made, awarding an additional amount to any project that is aimed at enhancing young people’s educational opportunities.

Once again, the participation of our people was impressive in 2022:

  • 13 countries involved
  • 167 projects supported
  • 4,923 donations made
  • €961,612 donated by employees and the UniCredit Foundation

Over the years, the simple mechanism of the program has made it possible to help hundreds of projects, explore and support local needs and necessities, and stand by our employees and their desire to do something tangible to help our communities progress.

Here are the stunning numbers that mark the 20th anniversary of the program:

  • >6,000 projects supported
  • 163,650 donations made
  • €51.8 million donated by employees and UniCredit Foundation

Gift Matching Program Ambassador, Cinzia De Marchi, commented:

To me, the Gift Matching program is the wonder of discovering that our Bank is actively committed to creating a positive impact on the community, by giving our people the opportunity to contribute personally. It is the wonder of meeting colleagues who take responsibility of gathering information about various non-profit organisations to propose to other colleagues to contribute together to making our society better.”
