This weekend, Formula 1 returns to the Shanghai International Circuit, a track renowned for its high-speed straights, challenging corners, and unique design. Shanghai International Circuit is a true masterpiece of motorsport architecture, designed by the legendary Hermann Tilke. The circuit's shape is inspired by the Chinese character “shang” (上), meaning “to ascend,”. The track layout features a striking “infinite” right-hand corner, where drivers must navigate more than 270 degrees of rotation before switching back.
Another highlight of the circuit is its astonishing 1.2-kilometer straight, one of the longest in F1, where drivers reach breathtaking speeds before diving into a tight braking zone.
