Italy Tech Day - Innovation for Good #2

U-Earth, Treedom, Anemotech, NEXT and 3Bee. These are the five scale-ups that had the opportunity to present themselves during the last Italy Tech Day. Let's find out more about them.

U-Earth is a biotech company whose mission is to harness the power of nature to purify the Planet's air, providing clean air for all, as a human right. With 12 years of R&D and field-testing experience, they provide organisations and people who want to be sustainability champions with bespoke professional air purification solutions (Pure Air Zones), products (U-Mask), and community tools (U-App) that exponentially maximise the positive effect on making the Planet a cleaner place, acting now.

Treedom is the first platform in the world that allows to plant trees remotely and follow the project’s history virtually .

Since its foundation in 2010 in Florence, more than 2.000.000 trees have been planted in Africa, South America and Italy. All trees are planted directly by beneficiaries and bring environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities.

Anemotech has patented theBreath, a printable fabric that passively absorbs airborne micropollutants with bacteriostatic and antiviral capabilities. Used for billboards, street furniture, construction sites and indoor furniture. It is a versatile product with uses in the automotive and transport sectors. Facemasks, prams and home devices are other examples of applications.

NEXT (Getplus) is based on swarms of modular, intelligent electric vehicles that can physically connect to each other and separate from each other on regular urban streets. It can be used as a carpool or cab, as a bus, delivery van, or long-distance truck, or passenger/freight interchange hub.

Modularity allows "shipment on the go," optimizing system capacity and reducing costs and traffic.

3Bee uses technology to improve productivity and sustainability in different food value chains, such as honey, egg and milk. 3Bee has developed a network of sustainable animal farmers, reaching more than 10k farmers and closing 2020 with 2.2M revenue with a YoY of 150%.
