All set for the start of the first multi-country edition of the Davis Cup finals by Rakuten with UniCredit acting as Official Bank of the competition. From today until 5 December, the greatest tennis champions of the world will compete on the courts of Turin, Innsbruck and Madrid.

Starting today, Turin and Innsbruck together with Madrid will host the first phase of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2021, which will then culminate with the semi-finals and final in the Spanish capital. In Austria, where anti-Covid measures have intensified in recent days, the game will be played behind closed doors.

UniCredit, Official Bank of the competition, is proud to be a partner of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals both because of the bank's presence in the territories where the competition takes place and because it shares the fundamental principles of tennis, the bank's commitment to sustainability and the increased interest in the sport thanks to digitalisation.

"We chose the Davis Cup as a sponsorship platform that fits perfectly with our positioning as a pan-European commercial bank - said Andrea Orcel, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit S.p.A.. The professional tennis players represent the excellence, empowerment and teamwork that we are also striving for in the Group. The Davis Cup is one of the leading international events in tennis and we are honoured to be partnering with them for this year and delighted that three key events are to be hosted in both important and growing markets for us."

An Ace for the Future

During the competition, the Bank will award the special prize "Aces4TheFuture" to each ace scored in the initial phase of the tournament, with the aim of supporting charitable projects.
