Event will open doors of contemporary art centers to UniCredit Group colleagues and their families.
October 10, 2009, marks the fourth edition of UniCredit Art Day. As many as 168,000 Group colleagues and their families will have the opportunity to visit major contemporary art centers in Italy and across Europe A wide network of museums and exhibition spaces, many of which are partners in UniCredit Group's cultural network, will be made accessible free of charge. The event will include guided tours, children's educational workshops and meetings designed to familiarize participants with the many languages of contemporary art.
Following the success of last year's UniCredit Art Day, 115 art institutions will participate in this year's initiative. The event continues what was launched in Italy in 2006 as a pilot program in partnership with AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums) as part of the multi-year project "UniCredit & Art."
This year's participants will visit centers for the production of contemporary thought. They will view permanent collections, temporary exhibitions and participate in activities that foster growth and exchange through art.
With this event, UniCredit Group reinforces its commitment to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary creativity and innovation, and to fostering shared values within the company and the communities in which it operates.
This UniCredit Art Day, participating museums in Italy will make it possible for colleagues to contribute to the advancement of scientific research by donating to the AIRC (Italian Association for Cancer Research). This is an example of how to combine support for scientific research with a passion for the arts.
