UniCredit organised its first Employee Donation Day a full day dedicated to the donation of more than 6,000 toys for children in need across the different countries in which we operate. This is one of the many concrete actions our bank is carrying out to support communities and the less fortunate, helping to bring joy during the Festive Season.

Caring is one of UniCredit’s Values – an action that is embedded in all our behaviours and adopted by all our stakeholders. During this first UniCredit Employee Donation Day our people truly united behind our common Purpose of Empowering Communities to Progress, collecting new and second-hand toys for those less fortunate.

All festive gifts collected were donated to different non-profit organisations across the many countries in which UniCredit operates. Through their own dedicated support initiatives, colleagues in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Serbia came together to support this worthy cause through simple yet significant actions.

This is one of the many concrete steps carried out by our bank to express our commitment in supporting communities, contributing to giving them the possibility to celebrate the festive season in a more joyful way.

In addition, the employees who were unable to contribute to this initiative still had the opportunity to support a worthy cause. This month, we launched our bank’s 2022 Gift Matching Program, UniCredit Foundation's biggest annual solidarity initiative. The project aims to engage colleagues to propose and support non-profit organisations they care about inside or outside Group countries. UniCredit Foundation will match all the colleagues’ donations in favor of projects supporting children and young people (up to 24 years old). Moreover, projects aimed at enhancing young people’s educational opportunities in one or more of the countries where UniCredit operates will receive an additional contribution.

We proudly say thank you to all UniCredit colleagues and their families who donated to those in our communities and organised volunteer activities this winter holiday season. Through our joint efforts, our people were able to donate over 6,000 toys for those less fortunate.
