International Day of Education

At UniCredit today we celebrate the International Day of Education, established by the United Nations General Assembly, with the aim to recognise education as essential to the sustainable development of our society and for our people across the countries in which the bank operates.
Empowering our communities starts with empowering our people. Our bank believes in investing in our people’s education and development to determine the success of our Bank and deliver on our Purpose. With this in mind, this past year we introduced UniCredit University, a platform to further enhance our global training offering and harness our collective knowledge and know-how to maintain our competitive advantage. Furthermore, UniCredit University also provides a tailor-made approach to learning and professional development, delivering a fully immersive employee experience focused on the upskilling and reskilling of role-based competencies.
However, UniCredit’s commitment to empowering communities to progress goes beyond our internal stakeholders.
In 2022, UniCredit Foundation relaunched its Purpose and commitment to empowering Europe’s youth by providing them with equal education opportunities. To achieve this, UniCredit Foundation is working towards combating school drop-out, encouraging university attendance, promoting study and research, and enhancing employability to fulfil its Purpose: Unlock the potential of Europe’s next generation.
In the coming weeks, UniCredit Foundation will launch various educational projects across our geographies, including a research grants initiative and announcing winners of recently closed projects.
Last, but not the least, another educational milestone was achieved in 2022 when UniCredit and Teach For All proudly joined forces to elevate education for children with an innovative and inclusive pan-European partnership spanning across seven UniCredit core countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovakia and Serbia. The collaboration with UniCredit provides resources and support in training the teachers involved to further empower local communities to reimagine education systems in under-resourced areas and help build more inclusive school environments that offer quality education to all children, year after year.
