Meet Yue Chang, Data Analyst at UniCredit

Five years ago, I embarked on a life-changing journey from China to Europe to pursue my master's degree at Bocconi University in Milan. This has led me to a fulfilling career at UniCredit. Despite my academic background and professional experience being primarily focused on finance and accounting, I received an opportunity to explore my interest in a Data Analyst role. With only a modest grasp of coding languages and a profound passion for digitalisation, I eagerly accepted the challenge.

In a nutshell, with my team, I help our stakeholders translate complex data into actionable insights, implementing their data-driven decision-making processes. The most exciting part of my job is that we support data automation projects throughout the entire data product lifecycle: from analysing business requirements, designing data models, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to eventually launching products. Each project feels like nurturing a flower – filled with both excitement and challenges.

One aspect I particularly appreciate working at UniCredit

Is the possibility to embrace innovation and supporting environment. For instance, inspired by the Data Mesh strategy, we brainstormed to create a dashboard which monitors end-to-end data flows from source tables to reporting layers, distributing data ownership, and increasing reporting efficiency. Luckily, I was assigned as the main product owner. The implementation process was quite challenging due to involvement of multiple teams across various departments and countries, but I am proud that we have just entered its final testing phase and I believe it will significantly benefit UniCredit's global system.

As UniCredit employees, we have access to extensive resources

For cultivating our professional growth, covering both technical and soft skills. In addition to my daily job, I am also one of the founding members of the REACH - Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage Employee Network which gathers diverse international population within our organisation. Our Network extends beyond our physical location, so I have gained numerous meaningful connections with colleagues from different countries, including Germany, Austria and even USA. Sometimes, I also engage as mentor to younger colleagues, empowering them to unlock their full potential in the data and digitalisation area.

Outside work, I am very adventurous

Delighted to swim and scuba dive during summers and snowboarding during winters. Additionally, I have a passion for travelling and recently marked my 17th country visited. This year I am looking forward to trying surfing, skydiving, and bungee jumping!

Three words to describe my personality:

ambitious, outgoing, reliable.

Three words to describe my job:

innovative, attentive, cooperative.

Meet Csaba Kiss, Head of Branch Network at UniCredit Hungary

As the Head of Branch Network in Hungary, I am responsible for entire retail network, ensuring we provide excellent service to our clients, contributing to our sales targets and our overall business ambition.

In my job I am working with many colleagues on local level which makes me very enthusiastic as I can directly see how we turn ideas and our effort into tangible business results, creating added value for our clients and enabling them to progress in their private and/or professional lives.

The road to my current role was quite long, but very exciting

UniCredit is my first employer. I have joined through the Management Trainee Rotation Program 19 years ago. This enabled me to see many different areas of the bank.  After completing the Trainee program, I officially started my career in Product development department and over the years covered various roles within Product Management, Affluent Banking, Digital Channels, CRM, Call Center, Agent Network, Private Banking, Sales support, Branch Network. One of the key skills that helped me navigate my distinct career path is the ability to adapt, finding the best way to overcome challenges.

UniCredit is a company that provides vast opportunities

For learning and growth, contributing to personal and professional development. Just recently I participated in the UniCredit FVP Fast Track Program, a unique learning journey where I received particularly useful leadership trainings and worked with a coach on enhancing public speaking capabilities. As a part of this journey, I also got the opportunity to present a case focused on ‘Integrity’, one of our core Values, at the ‘UniCredit Talk’ internal event. Which is like a TED talk but for the entire Group.

After almost 2 decades, I am still highly motivated

As I can clearly see the fruition of my work every day and UniCredit is a company that encourages continue acknowledgement of its people. There were two grand moments in my career I am very proud of: when I was only 26 years old, I was named ‘Employee of the Year’ at the annual all-staff event and afterwards I was also nominated by UniCredit for the ‘Young banker of the year’ award for the Hungarian market. It is an amazing feeling knowing my dedication and contribution to the success is recognised.

In the free time

Beside spending time with my family, I regularly workout at the gym, enhancing both my physical and mental health.

Three words to describe my personality:

committed, persistent and flexible.

Three words to describe my job:

beautiful, challenging and motivating.
