At the end of a busy 2020, UniCredit Research launches a new ‘Teach in’ to help clients navigate economics and markets

During a very unusual year, UniCredit Research was overwhelmed with requests from colleagues, clients, policymakers and other stakeholders.
“The demand for information, analysis and outlook to help them navigate the health and economic shock was massively challenging but highly rewarding,” said Erik F. Nielsen, Group Chief Economist and Global Head of CIB Research at UniCredit.
To meet this demand, UniCredit Research launched a number of initiatives, including a new ‘Teach-in’ series. The series started in mid-December with a 15 minute session by Marco Valli, Chief European Economist and Head of Macro Research for UniCredit Research, who explained why quantitative easing will not lead to inflation.
Marco’s teach-in was described as the “best explainer you’ll ever get on why QE isn’t inflationary” by CNBC anchor Joumanna Bercetche. You can watch the ‘teach in’ here.
The next event will take place at the end of January (look out for more updates here.)
The new series caps a busy year for UniCredit Research. The number of video and conference calls with groups of at least 20 clients per call increased by 33% while the number of individual client calls “went completely through the roof.”
Readership of the team’s flagship Economic Outlook newsletter more than doubled to 17,000 per issue while readership of Erik’s weekly Sunday Wrap rose by 35%.
