The Filarmonica della Scala announces its 2018-19 Season
In June, the Filarmonica della Scala presented its new season of 2018-19 concerts.
The key participants in the press conference for the presentation were Jean Pierre Mustier, CEO of UniCredit and president of the Filarmonica della Scala, Filippo Del Corno, Councilor for Culture of the City of Milan, and Riccardo Chailly, music director of the Teatro alla Scala and principal conductor of the Filarmonica della Scala.
Maestro Riccardo Chailly will open the Season on Monday, November 12, 2018.
The new program comprises 10 major concerts featuring great conductors and soloists, some of whom are making their debut with the Orchestra.
During the year, more than 50 other events are scheduled to be held either in the theater or offsite, in Italy and abroad. The Filarmonica will perform 20 concerts offsite.
In addition, the Open Filarmonica initiatives will continue, confirming that the Filarmonica and UniCredit share the same goals and values: creating innovative projects, spreading musical culture to a wide, diversified audience, training the new generations and paying special attention to local communities.
The various components of Open Filarmonica are "Open Rehearsals", "Sound, Music!", the "Concerto per Milano" in Piazza Duomo and scholarships for young musicians.
