For the past 20 years, UniCredit has been major partner of the Arena di Verona Festival, an internationally renowned musical event that is celebrating its hundredth anniversary.

This year's Centennial Festival will begin June 14 with a new production of Aida directed by Omer Meir Wellber and featuring the La Fura dels Baus group. The rest of this year's program is equally impressive, with a packed schedule of celebrated works, as well as three evening galas and a performance of Verdi's Requiem.

The partnership between UniCredit and the Arena di Verona began in 1994 with a joint project to digitize the foundation's box office.  As a result of this effort, Arena di Verona became Italy's e-commerce pioneer, selling the first e-ticket in 1995. Since then, roughly 10,000 tickets have been sold.  UniCredit and the foundation have continued to break new ground, and last year introduced the free Arena di Verona mobile app, which allows users to purchase tickets and access information about their favorite operas via smartphones or tablets.

This important long-term partnership underscores our Group's dedication to UniCredit's territories and people.  We are proud to support prestigious events such as the Arena di Verona, which embody Italian excellence and make culture more accessible to the public.
