On Sunday, March 30, the Filarmonica's 5th season of open rehearsals came to a close. The initiative, La Filarmonica della Scala incontra la città, was realized by the Filarmonica della Scala and its Main Partner, UniCredit, along with the support of the UniCredit Foundation.
The season of open rehearsals aims to make music more accessible to a wider public, giving individuals an opportunity to hear the orchestra perform while supporting the work of select important non-profit organizations in the Milan area that receive the proceeds from these events.
During the last five years, the open rehearsal program has involved 21 non-profit organizations. This is an important milesone, both with regard to culture and fundraising. These institutions have included: in 2010, Fondazione Don Gnocchi, Fondazione Arché, Casa della Carità and Fondazione Floriani; in 2011, Comunità Nuova, Vidas, Centro per anziani "Ercole Ratti," Scuola Italiana di Senologia and Opera San Francesco per i Poveri; in 2012, Ospedale Buzzi, CasAmica, Bambinisenzasbarre and COMIN; in 2013, Opera Cardinal Ferrari, Centro Francescano Maria della Passione, Cena dell'Amicizia and Pane Quotidiano; in 2014, Caritas Ambrosiana, Auser Milano, Progetto Arca and Seneca.
UniCredit, the UniCredit Foundation and the Filarmonica della Scala are pleased to have contributed to the advance of both culture and charity here in Milan.
