A New Set Up for UniCredit's Global Banking Services (GBS)

Massimo Milanta, Matthias Sohler, Paolo Cederle and Robert Zadrazil to form New GBSExecutive Management Team


UniCredit Group's GBS (Global Banking Services) activities, headed by Deputy CEO Paolo Fiorentino, are being structured along four newly formed departments, which will be headed by Massimo Milanta, Matthias Sohler, Paolo Cederle and Robert Zadrazil, it was announced today.

"This re-alignment of GBS, will make us even more efficient, by enabling us to better concentrate on the implementation of our business model, on our cost management as well as on the harmonisation of our IT structure and Back-Office activities at the Group level. With the appointment of Massimo, Matthias, Paolo and Robert we are establishing a powerful, international team, which will play a substantial part in the achieving sustainable growth for our Group in the future", commented Fiorentino.

As Head of Group Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department, Massimo Milanta will be the new Group Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, he will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, integration programs and cost control in the IT segment for the entire UniCredit Group.

Matthias Sohler will be Head of Group Organisation & Logistics. His responsibilities will include organization, cost management and also comprise the Real Estate and Purchase Departments of the Group. Sohler will continue in his functions as Management Board member of HypoVereinsbank.

Paolo Cederle will become Head of Banking Services, and will thus be focal point for IT, Back Office and workout services Group-wide. In this regard, the further development of the pan- European IT platform EUROSIG - supported by Massimo Schiattarella, Head of UniCredit Global Information Services - and the establishment of cross-national product development will be given priority.

Robert Zadrazil is Head of GBS CEE and will hence be responsible for the co-ordination of all GBS activities in the Central and East European UniCredit subsidiaries. His task will focus on the enhancement of synergies in the IT and Back Office departments in Central and Eastern Europe. Robert Zadrazil will continue in his function as Management Board member of Bank Austria Creditanstalt.
