As of September 1, Marcello Berni will assume responsibility for UniCredit Group's global media relations activities. Based in Milan, Italy, Berni will report to Marc Beckers, Head of Group Identity & Communications, and will collaborate closely with CEO Alessandro Profumo and Chairman Dieter Rampl.
Berni has 15 years of experience in international journalism. At present, he is Head of the Companies and Markets section at Handelsblatt, Germany's leading business and financial daily. From 2000 to 2005 he was Handelsblatt's Milan Bureau Chief and Correspondent for Italy.
Marcello Berni studied Management at the Universities of Regensburg and Parma. He started his professional career at the German public radio Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, where he held various journalistic positions. He is fluent in four languages.
Berni is married with two sons.
