Pink Floyd Ballet on stage in Istanbul

UniCredit, Teatro alla Scala's Main Partner for International Tours, Brings Italian Ballet to Istanbul and Confirms its Commitment to Music

November, 2010 - On a tour taking Pink Floyd Ballet - the famous "rock" ballet conceived by the choreographer Roland Petit - on the European stages, UniCredit is proud to accompany Milan's Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company to Istanbul. Thanks to the agreement signed last year with the Teatro alla Scala Foundation, UniCredit has become the musical institution's main partner for international tours for five years up to 2013. Through this partnership, the Group aims to strengthen its cultural engagement by bringing a special focus to the universal language of music.

Pink Floyd Ballet, inspired to Petit by the visionary music of Pink Floyd, combines classic dance technique with modern music in a blaze of lights and laser effects. After the debut at La Scala in 2009, the ballet has traveled in Italy and abroad, getting to Ljubljana and Athens before arriving in Istanbul, the European Capital of Culture for 2010. Accompanying the La Scala Ballet Company to Istanbul has a particular significance for UniCredit, which in Turkey operates through an important bank of the Group, Yapı Kredi, present in the country with more than 16,000 employees in over 800 branches.

In Istanbul UniCredit is now represented also in the field of visual arts, with the exhibition "PastPresentFuture - Highlights from the UniCredit Collection", displaying over 90 works from the collections of the various banks of the Group, including seven works from the Yapı Kredi Art Collection. The show is open at the Yapı Kredi Cultural Center until January 7th 2011.

UniCredit, an international group with approximately 10,000 branches and 161,000 employees in 22 countries, through the support and the diffusion of music and visual arts, aims at witnessing its engagement in favour of a sustainable social and economic development of the communities in which it operates.
