Western Union, a global leader in payment services, and UniCredit, a leading European financial services group in Europe, have signed an agreement to offer Western Union's Account Based Money Transfer service (ABMT) in Italy.  Having already successfully teamed up with UniCredit in eight countries, this agreement represents the continued commitment to deliver best in class money transfer services across the UniCredit network.

Account Based Money Transfer will give UniCredit customers convenient access to the Western Union service via online banking and through any of the 7,800 ATM's and 4,000 kiosks in the UniCredit network, enabling them to send money from their accounts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to more than 450,000 Western Union Agent locations.

Jan Hillered, Senior Vice President - Europe & CIS, Western Union, says, "Western Union is delighted to extend our successful relationship with UniCredit.  This agreement is a clear demonstration of the increasing success of our electronic banking channels strategy that seeks to provide value-adding services to banks for the benefit of their customers, and now totals more than 80 deals signed."
