UniCredit was the lead sponsor of the Euromoney CEE Forum in Vienna, a key financial event attended by over 1,300 delegates from 45 countries. The two-day initiative was a valuable stage to discuss the biggest challenges the region is facing in the current economic scenario and a great networking platform for our clients and representatives.

On 10 and 11 January, UniCredit was the lead sponsor of the Euromoney CEE Forum in Vienna. An initiative that brought together notable guests such as top business leaders, high government officials and media. More than 100 UniCredit clients from 14 countries joined the Forum and UniCredit representatives participated as panelists in two plenary sessions during our bank’s dedicated session providing valuable insights and advice to clients and the wider audience.

Fabio Fornaroli, Head of Corporates CE&EE, discussed challenges and opportunities in the CEE banking sector with peers, commenting: “The biggest challenge will be to speed up the green transition considering the current energy deficit situation and its impact on the Region’s economy. UniCredit is in the front line to mitigate this situation. Our Group is a long-term partner of local governments and IFIs in delivering various support programs to local economies and communities.” 

UniCredit is one the biggest partners of EIB Group in the Region, offering clients dedicated guarantee schemes that help them to enhance their financing options and stimulate green investments as well as social programs support.  Together with EIF/EIB, UniCredit has delivered more than 10 important programs to the CE&EE economy over the last years such as an SME initiative, COSME, EaSi, InnovFin, Cultural Creative sector support, to mention just a few. 

 

Dominic Pfisterer, Head of Advisory & Capital Markets, addressed sustainable finance topics such as energy priorities and carbon neutrality.

The Euromoney CEE Forum also provided an excellent networking opportunity for UniCredit delegates to meet clients and discuss how the Group can support them in unlocking their full potential.
