Meet Aditi Kelkar, Analyst at UniCredit’s New York Branch
I joined UniCredit just over a year ago, and so far, it has been an incredible experience, mostly thanks to my colleagues and the friendly work environment. Being born and raised in India, having studied in Germany, and currently working in New York, my diverse background is highly valued and appreciated at UniCredit. I have had the opportunity to explore new places, meet new people, share my thoughts, and learn every step of the way.
As I was a new joiner not so long ago, I would like to share how important it was for me to have immense support from my colleagues throughout the entire interview process and onboarding. It truly helped me integrate more easily into the new environment and immediately engage in various activities.
After extensive training sessions during the initial months, I was excited to face challenges, work with talented people, and enrich my skills. I enjoy the client interactions and daily challenges of working in the Advisory & Financing department. As a small team in the New York branch, I get to work on diverse topics in a fast-paced environment.
In addition to my official job, I feel motivated by the “HER STORY” sessions organised by the bank to tackle women empowerment and promote gender and generational equity across all levels of our organisation. It is exciting to gain insights from the senior female bankers and their journeys in this field.
Besides work, I like to travel, do photography, and practice yoga. It is a good thing that my job at UniCredit enables me to travel across multiple countries and explore new cultures.
Three words to describe my personality:
aspirational, ambitious, passionate.
Three words to describe my job:
detail-oriented, fast-paced, challenging.
Meet Dragomir Dimitrov, Internal Auditor at UniCredit Bulbank, Bulgaria
I have been working at UniCredit for an incredible 24 years and what a journey has it been! Enriching in knowledge and skills, professional and personal development, and amazing people to work with, to say the least.
For the first few years of my career, I worked in the Retail department where I built my core banking expertise, quantitative and result-driven skills, while at the same time, my soft, social skills were being shaped, focusing on helping people and building sustainable relationships with our clients.
Soon enough, I got a new opportunity to join the Learning and Development team and pilot the very first series of trainings for Sales and Customer Service.
I still believe there is no greater enjoyment than passing your own knowledge and expertise to a new generation of colleagues, helping them unlock their potential and contribute to overall success. I am also proud to be part of establishing the first Assessment Center in our Bank, supporting leadership skills and managerial potential evaluation.
After several years, I decided it was time to go out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. I first joined our Operational Risk team, where my daily job included managing the Bank’s losses due to operational risk, key risk indicators, operational risk scenario analysis, etc. All of this helped me prepare for my current role – an auditor. Working in audit means engaging with different and complex daily tasks which require specific skills and knowledge, and every team member brings competences that are complementary to the others. That’s how we manage to work sustainably.
Usually, before the work I love to take a morning jog to boost my energy, while in my spare time I play guitar or go hiking in nature.
Three words to describe my personality:
amiable, passionate, self-motivated.
Three words to describe my job:
inspiring, counselling, trustworthy.
