As part of the sponsorship of the 37th America’s Cup, UniCredit is proud to support the next generation of talents at the third edition of the Youth America’s Cup. Our Bank’s involvement in this initiative marks a new important step in our commitment to unlocking young people's potential and promoting sustainable and economic development.
Taking place from the 17th to the 26th of September in Barcelona, the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup Regatta will bring together the world's most exceptional young sailors, aged between 18 and 25 years old, representing 12 countries. The thrilling yacht race will test their team spirit, intuition, leadership and aptitude.
“I am proud to see that younger generations are approaching a sport which is founded on team spirit, intuition and determined pursuit of a common goal. We are proud to be partnering with an event that showcases talent and prioritises environmental and sustainable practices. This is aligned fully with UniCredit’s own strategy.”

America’s Cup Event CEO Grant Dalton is looking forward to what will be a major highlight of the packed AC37 calendar.
“The UniCredit Youth America’s Cup is a glimpse to the future talent of the America’s Cup, an opportunity for the sailors from all 12 countries to build the foundations of potential new America’s Cup teams and stake their claim to future America’s Cup glory. A fleet of AC40s racing off Barcelona’s beachfront with the world’s best youth sailors will be a spectacle in itself and having UniCredit’s commitment to inspiring and nurturing youth talent makes them a perfect partner for this special event.”

Alongside the established six America’s Cup teams (New Zealand, Great Britain, USA, Italy, Switzerland and France), we are excited to welcome an additional six entries – Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, Germany, Sweden, and Australia – which were selected through rigorous trials.
Before the official race starts, from the 10th to the 15th of September 2024 the new teams will undergo five and a half days of intensive practice, while the experienced participants will have their half-day session. The competition will take place in the cutting-edge foiling class, the AC40.
The opening qualification rounds will feature a total of eight races for each group, with the top three teams advancing to the Final Series of four competitions. The Grand Finale, taking place on the 26th of September, will witness the top two squads battling head-to-head in a closing match for the title. The winners will be awarded the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup trophy.
The entire 37th America’s Cup is open to the public for free, and spectators can catch the races from the beach. The event will also be broadcast globally on free-to-air channels and online.
