Andrea Orcel Named "Banker of the Year" and UniCredit honored with multiple achievements across Europe at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024.
Euromoney's prestigious Awards for Excellence ceremony in London on 18 July marked a significant achievement for UniCredit and its CEO, Andrea Orcel. The CEO was named "Banker of the Year" in recognition of his exceptional leadership and the outstanding results achieved by UniCredit in 2023 through the "UniCredit Unlocked" industrial transformation plan.
UniCredit was also recognized with multiple awards across Europe, further solidifying its position as a leading financial institution in Europe. The bank was named the Best Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Western Europe, emphasizing its extensive reach of over 2 million SME clients and 15 million retail clients across 13 countries in Europe. Additionally, UniCredit received accolades as the Best Bank in Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The bank's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors was acknowledged with awards for Best Bank for ESG in Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Moreover, its dedication to diversity and inclusion was celebrated with the title of Best Bank for Diversity & Inclusion in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In total, UniCredit received a remarkable 18 awards, including recognitions for wealth management, transaction services, and banking for corporate and SMEs in CEE and in several other European countries.
