Today, 21 May, UniCredit proudly joins the global community in celebrating the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, marking our commitments towards DE&I and embracing the richness of our pan-European identity. This significant day serves as a reminder of the crucial role cultural diversity plays in fostering dialogue, understanding, and sustainable progress worldwide

2:00 min

UniCredit, with its presence across 13 countries, encompassing colleagues from more than 129 different birthplaces, recognises the profound impact of cultural and ethnic diversity within its organisation and in all the communities in which we operate.

Our pan-European footprint provides a rich tapestry of talent, enabling us to cultivate diverse teams that drive innovation and excellence across our operations.

We believe that embracing cultural diversity not only enriches our company culture but also strengthens our ability to serve our customers and communities more effectively.

Here is how we continuously reaffirm our commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and connected workplace:

Embracing Cultural Diversity: Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) ambitions include increasing awareness of and boosting our Group-wide cultural diversity.

We recognise, respect, and value the differences and similarities among individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities.

By fostering healthy and meaningful relationships and seeking out new perspectives, experiences, and skills, we strengthen our sense of community and connectedness. Read more about our inclusive workplace and well-being at work committments.

Promoting Social Well-being: Social well-being, anchored in togetherness, inclusion, and belonging, is a key pillar of our EmpoweringU Well-being Group-wide framework.

By promoting an environment where everyone feels valued and included, we enhance the overall well-being of our employees and foster a culture of collaboration and support. Read more about our Well-being framework and how we promote it  across the Group!

Celebrating Employee Networks: Our Employee Networks serve as powerful catalysts for change, providing platforms for colleagues to voice their opinions, share experiences, and drive positive initiatives. By celebrating and promoting these networks, we amplify the voices of our diverse workforce and empower employees to contribute to a more inclusive workplace.

Enhancing Allyship and Sponsorship: Everyone has the opportunity to be an ally and amplify their own and our collective positive impact within our organisation and beyond. By emphasising the importance of allyship and sponsorship, we encourage everyone to support and advocate for their colleagues, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.

As we come together to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we remain fully committed to building a workplace where diversity is celebrated, inclusion is championed, and every voice is heard.

We will introduce an international food menu - during the week of 20 to 24 of May or either for the specific day, 21 May - including traditional dishes from various countries, in our local headquarters canteens in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic and Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Russia.

To further mark the day our tower spire in Milan will light up in yellow, violet, red, green and blue
